The Rick Randlett Band opens for Shane Dwight
July 28, 2019
GAINESVILLE, FL – The Rick Randlett Band will be opening for the critically acclaimed blues maverick, Shane Dwight, who will pull you into his house by the ear after the first chord of No One Loves Me Better out on Red Parlor Records out on April 5, 2019. This esteemed independent label has long been a champion of music’s best songwriters, and Dwight is no exception. This new collection of songs is some of his most personal yet– gut-wrenching, and heartbreaking to date. The story of a man finding love, committing a crime and wanting redemption runs deep in Shane’s songs.
Known for his guitar and lap steel prowess, Rick has assembled a new band, focusing on his lap steel playing. Featuring Kellen Vincent on guitar and vocals, Mitch Rogers on bass and vocals, and Lance Spano on drums, the Rick Randlett Band is currently working on a new CD, tentatively titled “Evening Train”.
Rick Randlett first discovered the blues in college during the 1970’s. First influenced by the initial wave of British blues rockers he began to study the originators of the style. A move to Florida in the 1980’s led to gigs with country artists and now songs by Johnny Cash and Hank Williams sit comfortably in his show along with songs by Robert Johnson and Big Bill Broonzy.
Along with guitar and vocals, Rick is known for his lap steel work, and that instrument along with slide guitar and pedal steel all make appearances on the stage.
Rick has released five CDs, three of which have reached the top ten on the Roots Music Report blues charts. Check Rick out on YouTube, Spotify, and iTunes!
